Poor Indian, hungry Indian
I don't understand how 'knows' changes to 'nows' and 'long time no see'
changes to 'ltnc'. I mean even if you are abbreviating it, logically it should
be 'ltns'. People think that changing the spelling of words makes them
sound cool and happening in some paradigm of the universe. But I don't feel so.I know that I make a lot of mistakes while writing but I
deliberately don’t change the spellings of words to sound ‘cool’. I think that
English is an elegant language in itself and should be kept that way.
Recently someone asked for the contact details of the prettiest
girl I have dated. Firstly, I am not pimping out girls here. Secondly,
even if I was, anonymous survey is not the best way to ask for it.
A guy sent me an anonymous mail saying that 'there was a girl he
met some time back. And he liked her a lot. They started dating but then they
started having quarrels because she thought that he was arrogant, too high on attitude
and self absorbed. She broke up with him feeling that he deserved someone
better. He misses her and wants her back in his life'.
First of all I would like to thank him for sharing something so
close to his heart with me. If you want the girl back then you will have to go
up to her and tell her that you actually miss her a lot, think about her
all day long. And that you want no one else, better or worse. You just
want to be with her. You should also work on your attitude. Try to be more down
to earth. And show interest her life. Every now and then, ask her how things
are and what her future plans are. This is all I can say. Do this at least. And
then leave it up to destiny. If it is meant to be, it will happen.
The story I will be narrating now is about my encounter with a
couple of foreigners. They were Russians (actually they were not all from
Russia, the names of their countries were very difficult to pronounce but they
all spoke in Russian so that is why I call them Russians). I don’t know all of
their names, forget countries
Again I was at a club, most of the random girls I have met have come
across me at some club or while travelling. I actually even met some girls from
Siberia in a bus once. They had come via some AIESEC exchange program but
nothing else about it is worth telling.
So at the club, I was with a friend of mine. As we came out, we
saw them standing on the road and waiting for a cab. My friend went up to
them and asked them where they were going. They said "north
campus". We said that we were also going there so we could
give them a ride (we had to go in the exact opposite part of the city).
They were studying in Delhi university. We exchanged numbers
and planned to meet up soon after. Initially I thought of them as ideal flings
but later when I got to know them better, I found out that they were really
nice and good at heart. And they were looking for just some friends in India
who could show them more of the country. I also got reminded of that Indian
tourism advertisement of Aamir Khan. So I thought for once in life I should
stop objectifying women.
Although we guys didn't have much in common to talk about but we
became good friends. They wanted to travel and explore India.
We went to Simla.We went
after we got out of a club, at about 4 in the morning. I drove for about 8
hours. We reached there by midday, roamed around for some time and then left
back in the evening. So all in all, it was a good trip. If you have added me on Facebook, then you can
see some pictures.
Anyway, it was a good cross cultural interaction. I got to learn a
lot about their culture and I hope that they had a good time with me.
They are going back to their country next month and I will go to
see them off.
Someone suggested that some of my stories should have happy
endings as well. I guess this wasn’t a sad ending.
Later
