Friends forever
Recently, India won the Champions Trophy. I don't follow any sports. In fact I got to know about the victory via the Facebook statuses of people. But it is good to know that India is excelling at least somewhere.
The guy who shared this story with me did a great job. He went into the intricate details of everything so made my job a lot easier. So without wasting anymore time, let's begin with the story.

DISCLAIMER
All characters in this story are fictitious. Any resemblance to any person, living or dead is purely coincidental.
Her name always seemed too common for her, too plain.Neha Sharma (fictitious name).Even if I don't write fictitious name, there would be millions of girls in this world with the same name so hardly matters. She was too grand for her small name, she was good looking, too classy for an engineering college. I don't mean to disrespect the girls from engineering colleges but that is the harsh truth.
She had a great fashion sense and a panache around her. She was elegant, an avid reader and preferred old movies to sitcoms. She was into classical dance (something which is regarded as one of the most versatile forms of dance) and couldn't pass a bookstore or antique shop without browsing for an hour. She had lustrous long black hair and dark brown eyes. She could actually feature in a Sunsilk advertisement.
Her parents had money, gobs of it, so the clique of wealthy and popular student sucked her in, claiming her as one of its own before she could do anything about it though she was very down to earth. She used to sit next to me during classes, and during the first semester we were- friends -when I or my batch mates asked. And as we spent more and more time together, more and more people asked. We studied for quizzes and exams together and spent days and couple of evenings at a dhaba, few kilometers away from our college. I use to love spending time with her.
She once told me that her family had forced her to opt for engineering. She wanted to study Psychology. I told her that it is good that she opted for engineering otherwise I wouldn't have been able to meet her.I noticed that she used to kink her eyebrow everytime she tried acting cute and when she was nervous she chewed her thumbnail. I'd fallen in love with her but never told her about my feelings. She was someone totally out of my league.
After graduating, we lost track of each other. I thought it was all over. A couple of years later, my cousin was getting married and I was tapped to be a participant in the wedding. Needless to say, I was pretty excited. My cousin lived in Chandigarh, but since we both were very close, my family and I knew we had to be there for the wedding.
It was a gorgeous day in Chandigarh, perfect day for a Gurudwara wedding. The Gurudwara was decorated beautifully and colors danced all over the hall as the sun shone through the stained glass windows. The bride was stunning. After the wedding ceremony, I went to congratulate my cousin and saw HER after four years.
She was looking gorgeous. I got a true glimpse of her beauty. I couldn't let this go. It just so happened that when I looked up at Neha again, she was looking back at me. We both had a quick chat and she told me that she was working in Pune. Gaurav's wife is Neha's family friend. Before leaving we managed to exchange phone numbers.
Back in Bangalore, exactly three days after the encounter at the Gurudwara, I texted her saying "hi". She replied immediately. We got talking and she told me that not only did she miss me after college, but she had hoped every day for a call or email from me. I told her I also missed her all the time, most whenever I saw a Sunsilk advertisement.
I had Neha on my mind and heart, when I left for Jaipur today in the morning for a meeting. Neha doesn't have a common name any more. She got married and her name now is Neha Dudeja (fictitious name). We both continue to share a remarkable friendship and always will.
I didn't mention my name? My name is Aman Dudeja (fictitious name). These days we also share much more than just friendship, we share the same last name.
It was me to whom Neha got married. We are welcoming our first baby next month. I can't wait to have one more sweet smile in my life to brighten my day.
The End
Voila!! Finally a happy ending. They don't talk to each other for four years and then out of the blue, run into each other and end up having a great married life together. That is what I try to convey, have faith in your destiny, good things are bound to happen, sooner or later.
