connection error
So, I am back in college for the final inning. This semester is
quite hectic in terms of workload. But that doesn't change the fact that 'I
have nothing else to do' and I will continue blogging.
Today's story is on a bit abstract topic. It is not about any of
my escapades or about making fun of someone. It is an incident from someone's
childhood which made him realize the bitter realities of life.
So let us begin

I was
in class 8th I guess, when I thought that it's very important to make links
with strong people who have powerful links or who belong to a political
background. Like every other teenager watching lame Hindi action movies, I
thought it would help me when i am caught up in a fight or any other sort of
trouble.
So i started to make links with such people and felt safe because of the bonding. This continued for 3 years and I was satisfied as i was never dominated or bullied. Thinking that those people had my back, I never hesitated to be involved in a fight.
It was summer vacation of class 11th and my friends had decided to have a cricket match with the money involved in betting.
The bet wasn't much but was enough for us to give our best shot and play sincerely. The opposite team had players of almost our age except one who was in second year of college. He was huge, fat and a bulky guy. The match started and we were winning from quite a gap which brought frustration in the college guy.
In a particular over I was hitting him for boundaries. He started to abuse which was fine but after that all of a sudden he hit my friend for no reason. It pissed me off so i went towards him in anger and hit him not caring about the consequences.
I attacked first because somehow i thought that there are many people to back me up. I felt strong at that time.
I was mistaken, he was much stronger than me and kicked the hell out of me. There was a connection error as no one came in between to stop and due to this after a few minutes I was in pain and bleeding.
I decided to call some people so that he is made to suffer. I told his name to tell my friends. I got to know via someone that his uncle is a member of parliament of India and a very powerful person and because of which none of the people I called showed up.
I couldn't do anything that time and was furious and dejected. I was led down. There were two ways to handle this situation. First was that I kick his ass with some illegal ways and second was that I accept defeat.
I come from a conservative family and thus being a decent human being at heart, I decided to choose the second one.

I guess
every teenager goes through this at some point in his school life but sooner or
later then he realizes that in a country like India it is necessary not to get
involved in fighting, stay away from political people and live a decent life.
The End
You are
wrong if you think that you chose the way which led to defeat, you chose the way towards
victory. Getting involved in fights is easy, even a rickshawallah gets involved
in fights for petty reasons, it doesn't make him the victor. The real victory
is in forgiveness. Even though he was elder to you in terms of age but you
played the bigger man. Some lessons in life are meant to be learnt the hard
way.
