Wannabe film critics
I came to college yesterday, I am
going back home tomorrow. Then I will come to college on Tuesday, go back home
on Wednesday. It is like I am enrolled in a distant learning program. But since 'I have
nothing else to do', whether in college or at home, I will continue to blog
wherever I am.
When a relationship comes to an end
(which every relationship, sooner or later does), it generally happens that one
person is able to move on while the other isn't. According to me, the person
who isn't able to move on is the one who believes he/she can't find anyone
better.
Love is totally
overrated by movies and the media. It is used by the industry to milk people of
their money by baseless spending. Who actually needs those lovey dovey teddies
or mugs? People confuse infatuation or habituation with love and end up doing
stupid things and worthlessly spending their money and time. Any couple on an
average talks for about a couple of hours daily. If even a fraction of that
time was used in something more productive, then it would lead to great
advances in their career and life in general. So this whole concept of love is
stupid and overrated.
So today I won't talk
about love. I will talk about some over smart people who think that they are a
cut above the rest. Any movie at an average takes months of preparation by
hundreds of people, and whether the movie is good or bad, those people won't
get the time they have invested in the movie back. The least we, as the
audience can do is, appreciate that effort. But no, some of us think that they know
all about film making and try to be wannabe film critics. They will
go and watch a movie and the first thing they will do after that is, ruin the
film for everyone else by uploading about the movie on their Facebook status.
They don't even wait to go back home to do that, they upload it via their
mobile.
One my seniors from
college, Dhananjay Prakash Singh (fictitious name), thinks that he knows all
about movies. I mean if you watch a movie and give your views about it, it is
fine. But how can you possibly rate a film? As if since childhood you have been
brought up in a film making environment and it is imbibed in you. Even if you
have to rate a movie, you should write, according to me it deserves these many
points. You are stating your ratings as a fact. If you actually want to be a
film critic, build your profile accordingly and then approach some media house
for a job in that field. You shouldn't try to act omniscient about movies.
You can share some incident
with me. The incident doesn't need to be pertaining to love and other
disasters. It could be any incident from your life which you want to share.
