Cafe Crostini

Okay, so first of all I want to start off by saying that this isn't a sponsored blog post because that is against my ethics (read no one will pay me even pennies to write about them). This blog post is here because someone recently asked me to talk about some new relationship of the 'bartender', so here it is. For a long time I had a plan to open up a health food joint (I even had a plan to be Iron Man but I realized that it is somewhat not possible) because healthy, nutritious food isn't available in India unlike other countries (not that I have been to any other country, but I have heard this from people).
I have started reading books to "improve" upon my writing so I was reading a book (it was very lame so no point even mentioning its name). It was about a college graduate starting an e-commerce website. So since 'I have nothing else to do', I thought that I should start off with an online store for healthy food as it won't require much capital.
I told a friend of mine about the idea and he told me that a friend of his has a cafe in Hauz khas village on the same lines and he introduced me to her (introducing nowadays means ccing the other person a mail). She replied back after five days (I was back to my Iron man plan by then), that she would be more than happy to help me with gaining some experience in the field.
The first thing which anyone does after receiving a mail is read it, think over it and then reply back. The first thing which I did is, go check her profile on Facebook.
This had never happened with the 'bartender', it was like blind love. I hadn't met her but it felt I was already falling for her.
I immediately replied back, asking her to set up a meeting. I was supposed to meet her a few days later but I couldn't wait and having complete faith in my bad luck, I thought that something would go wrong.
But fortunately, I met her.
I have met just a few people in life who are actually really passionate about their dreams and are driven to achieve them. She is one of them. She passed out from an Ivy league college, was a banker overseas and she quit her job because she had faith in her vision and she hasn't drawn a salary for the past one and a half years just to foster her vision, she works seven days a week from morning to late at night.
She feels that although there are many food joints in India but none of them is serving healthy, low calorie food. Her vision is to have a chain of food joints all across the country to cater to health conscious people.
One thing I realized just within five minutes of meeting her is that she is going to be really successful in life and even if I sweep the floors for her, I will be successful too.
I have decided to join her on a part time basis that is whenever I come back from college (which is like 4 days a week), I will work for her and since I will be getting done with my college by end of November so if we develop mutual interest, I will join her full time.
So for starters, I will tell you what all I did in the first four days. If you ever go to any shady, gray market, you will find guys obstructing you, selling porn. I did something like that, I obstructed people passing by near the cafe to tell them about the cafe. More than half the people didn't stop and even the ones who did stop by, just asked for directions to some other place. It was really demeaning but even if one guy went into the cafe after hearing about it from me, it was worth the effort. And then I even went to corporate offices to discuss about a meal system launched by the cafe. I was even kicked out by the guards but the amount learning you get by working even for a day in a start up is actually more than what years of corporate life can teach you.
When I told my mother about the cafe, she asked "this is why you got into IIT, to work at a Dhaba?"
I am quite sure I won't be going for a job and would be working for the cafe full time because from my own personal experience (I lost about 40 kgs), I know that people need healthy food (needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, in this case, mine).
So that answers the question, the bartender is actually in a relationship, but a professional one this time and for a change, one that he wants to last.
Another question was about 'geetanjali' and whether she is happy in her married life. I am not in touch with her (figuratively as well as literally) so don't know anything about her married life but I hope that she is doing good.
I have to go do some work now for the cafe (obviously not for college), otherwise I will get some serious ass kicking.
