A visionary
So the other day, I banged my car and that too was totally my fault. An auto was going at a normal speed at the crossing of a road and I was driving my car, coming from the other side, I hit him head on. But since I am a hardcore Salman fan, so I didn't stop and made it a hit and run case. #srksucks#sallubhairocks#beingvirgin.
I basically don't know the use of hashtags, so nowadays I am using them everywhere, thinking that at least somewhere they would make sense.
Coming back to my ever so happening life, the next day I had to meet a friend. So, to do some damage control at home, I decided to take a cab. Since the accident (you can read more about it at http://onceuponatimewhenidied.blogspot.in) my voice sounds a bit cranky, to be more precise, it seems that I was smoking up right before that. So once I sat in the car, the cab driver after hearing my voice, asked "Sir, were you partying?"
It was three in the afternoon! And my mother had opened the door when he rang the bell! Who smokes up at three in the afternoon with their mother, in India??
I was actually running an hour late (deliberately). That friend of mine had to buy a pair of glasses, she was in the sixth optical store when I reached. She tried at least fifty pairs of glasses in the next half an hour. The salesman was telling us the prices of every pair side by side, all of them were priced between 10k to 15k. Finally, she finalized upon a pair, it was costing 12k. She then inquired about the other details like the glass they would be using, its durability, whether it is anti-glare and till when she could collect the spectacles. I thought that this was it, and that I had played really smart by reaching an hour late.
Just when the shopkeeper was about to bill the order, she said that she had left her book at another shop and needed to get that. Once we walked out of the shop, she said in a serious tone "They are saying 12k but I want to buy one which doesn't cost more than 2k, do you think that they would negotiate?"
I burst out laughing, I mean it was six times, had it been about two times, it was still possible. She maintained a straight face because I was not helping her decide. And then suddenly something caught her eye and she exclaimed "Another store! Let's try there. This went on for another one hour, and finally she said that she would come again the next day, not because she was exhausted of searching, but because it was 9 in the evening and all the stores were shutting down.
I like talking to her because she is a keen listener and also because of the fact that she has probably had more hiccups in her life than me. Not that talking to her inspires confidence in me to do better and not give up, more like it gives me sadistic pleasure, feeling that I am not the only one.
Now, I may have portrayed her as dumb till now, but the fact of the matter is that she has more degrees on her wall than I can ever dream of getting. She is an Ivy League school graduate. The number of countries she has been to in the world is more than even the number of states I have been to in India.
She is beautiful, not in the traditional Indian woman's way, but more in the corporate woman's way. I use the line 'you don't look your age' on a lot of girls, but she is one of the few in whose case I actually mean it. She looks at least five years younger than her actual age.
Do I have a crush on her? Well, she is married and her husband is quite well built. Not the Sunny Deol kind of well built, more like Arnold kind of well built. But, I knew her before her marriage too, she is probably the only girl who I know with whom I am not related to by blood and for whom I have sisterly feelings. In fact, she treats me like a younger brother.
So, why don't I say it out loud that she is my self proclaimed sister? Well, I am a visionary like Steve Jobs. Since she is beautiful, so beauty is in her genes. If tomorrow, I meet some sister or cousin of hers and like her and even if the feeling is not mutual, I can't even say that I had a crush on that person because then by the associative law she would be my sister too. This is called as a practical application of mathematics.
Till now, I have written more than fifty blog posts. It is the first time that I am writing more than one blog post on the same person. I won't tell which was the earlier blog post I wrote on her because I prefer keeping the identity of the person anonymous and my blog posts are like pieces of a word picture with certain pieces missing, just so that the entire picture can't be formed. Now if I give pieces from two word pictures of the same person, one can easily make the entire word picture of that person.
