Cyclical compliment
So, if one reads through a couple of blog posts, it isn't hard to notice that the blog posts majorly about the initial dates with someone or the other. Readers often (never) inquire about the aftermath, as in what happens after that, do I stay in touch?
Most of the times, I do, but that is not what the blog is in existence. If only I would have been a legit writer, could I have been able to keep the reader intrigued in the same girl? A new girl in every blog post is what keeps the interest alive. The unpredictability in the conversations keeps one fascinated. The enigma is quite attractive.
Coming to the muse of this blog post, the first thought which comes to my mind when I think about her is the cyclical compliment. She complimented me saying that it is good that I have a good height, as when with me, she can wear heels. Now is she praising me for my height or herself is the dilemma, and that's why the compliment becomes cyclical?
She is quite tall and has the quintessential figure to compliment her height. In today's crunch economy, her choice of fashion designing as a profession makes complete sense, as I am presuming that she won't be hiring models to showcase her attire, would rather be doing it herself.
We went to a favorite cafe in the city. As I am quite laid back, it didn't occur to me that I could have booked a table beforehand. We were in the queue outside the cafe; the heat was scorching. There was a Zara store right next to the cafe. She went inside the store and asked me to follow her lead. The weather was quite sultry not scorching, and the air conditioned store felt like heaven (partly because of the company). She feigned interest in their collection, asking for the intricate details. This went on for about twenty minutes, till even the store manager got quite engrossed in the conversation. We thought our table at the cafe might have been vacated by then. I faked a call on my phone, and we walked out of the store. She told me she visits stores often because of her work, so engages in conversations with the store attendants quite often. It came to our rescue, as we couldn't just dilly dally in the store for the air conditioner.
Anyway, as Karma is a bitch, so our table still hadn't been vacated, and we ended up hanging out in the food court of a nearby mall. But she is so jovial and amusing, that it didn't seem to matter. She hails from Delhi; we were talking about the two cities, Mumbai and Delhi. Unlike the normal perception, she had some uncanny observations about the two cities.
One claim was that girls from Delhi are more beautiful, because of which, quite a few guys from Mumbai date girls from Delhi, whereas men from Delhi don't date girls from Mumbai (as if it is up to the guys). I pointed out that Delhi is unsafe for girls as compared to Mumbai. Her instant response was that this again proves girls in Delhi are more gorgeous. At that moment I didn't know about all the girls, but she did feel more beautiful than any of the girls I met in Mumbai. I can forge my mentality in tandem with her. As she is a fashion designer, so we can be like Victoria and David Beckham (me being the self-proclaimed 'player').
Is this it?
Well, I pointed out that the heat was sultry, not scorching. It was sultry because I met her in Mumbai, she was flying to Europe the next day for a couple of months.
