Diligent Workaholic

So, it's been quite some time since the last blog post. A major reason for that being; I am working with a consulting firm, and work hours are billable to the client at exorbitant fees. I thought in such a case running a blog by the name of 'I have nothing else to do' might not go in sync with the image of a 'Diligent Workaholic'.

But then a few days back, I was returning from a client meeting with my project manager. She told me that someone had mentioned about my blog to her. She had glimpsed through a blog post or two and found it interesting. She wanted to know how much of it was actually true. My reply was same as my Whatsapp status; 'Depends on who's asking'. But then I went onto clarify that the male protagonist of the blog is merely a figment of my imagination; in reality, I am a sincere corporate employee. I think she was impressed by the vividness of my imagination. Although, chewing a gum in a client meeting a few days later might have gone incongruous with my professional image. In my defense, I hadn't slept the night before because of fever.

Anyway, coming to the muse of the blog post. As I am a true environmentalist so to save the planet (read my money), I took an Uberpool. That is how I met her. We got talking and as it turns out she is into reading. I told her that I run a blog.. Now is the interesting part; She herself propositioned giving me her number so that I could send her the link to my blog. I gave her my phone to put in her name and number. By then, we had reached her drop location.

Following the six-hour rule, I texted her a light-hearted message saying that the Uber driver gave her just three stars. We talked for a bit (not texted, talked). I had my fair share of talks with girls in the past, but never have I ever come across someone so comfortable in her own skin. She wasn't putting up a face for the world or hiding her insecurities; this is what attracted me the most towards her. But that was over the phone, we decided to meet up.

She got done with her office at around 10 and I went to her place. Till now, I haven't mentioned anything about her looks because in the cab I was able to just vaguely notice her. That night when I saw her, I was literally spellbound. She was wearing a black kurti with a Patiala salwar and a red chunni to top it up. I don't know whether it was her sharp features, or alluring built or the flawless skin, it felt like an elixir. Her room was quite well arranged. Everything was in its place for a reason. The TV remote was in proximity of the bed, there was an Arvind Adiga novel in the night stand and water bottle by the bedside. We watched some videos and chilled for a bit, I don't know whether it was her innocence or her blatant honesty which I fell for; I just didn't want the night to end.

So, is this it? Have I finally found love? Has becoming an environmentalist finally paid off? Well, at the beginning of the blog post I had mentioned that I was returning a client meeting; I was a client site and it was my last weekend in the city when I met her. She was on a break with her boyfriend so needed some clarity. Earlier when I mentioned watched some videos and chilled for a bit, it meant 'Netflix and chill'. (for more clarity on the concept, refer to http://ihavenothingelseto.blogspot.in/2017/04/netflix-and-chill.html)
